Celebrating sisterhood, service, and a proud legacy of Spelman women in Metro Detroit.
Established in 1931, the Detroit Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC) is home to proud Spelman alumnae throughout the Metro Detroit area.
We are committed to uplifting Spelman students and strengthening the bonds of sisterhood through scholarships, mentorship, service, and community engagement. As one of NAASC’s longest-standing chapters, Detroit NAASC brings together generations of Spelman women dedicated to making a difference.
To support Spelman College and its students by providing scholarship assistance, mentorship, and a strong alumnae network in Detroit.
To cultivate a powerful sisterhood of Spelman women actively engaged in service, leadership, and local community impact.
• Sisterhood • Scholarship
• Mentorship • Leadership
For over 90 years, Detroit NAASC has served as a home for Spelman alumnae who live, work, and lead throughout Metro Detroit.
From pioneering members in the early 20th century to today’s diverse alumnae community, our chapter continues a long tradition of honoring the legacy of Spelman College — while creating opportunities locally for sisterhood, mentorship, and community service.
